March 11 – The Semantics of Righteousness; A Journey Through the Old Testament and New Testament

March 4th, 2012 by admin

Join us for Morning Worship and a sermon by Dr. Rex D’Agostino. We will be reviewing both the Hebrew (O.T.) and Greek (N.T.) application and understanding of “righteous and righteousness” and see how the usage has evolved from “Law” to “Gospel”. We will look at topics such as “God as righteous” and “The righteous saint”, along with reviewing Matthew’s (Ch.5) and Paul’s application of their seminal discussion through Romans 1-4 and Romans 6-8. We hope to emphasize the key scripture periscope from 2 Corinthians 5:20…”We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
